Bush Tomato & Mountain Pepper Seasoning
Memorable Quotes: "That Bush Tomato Seasoning was so delicious, my son took my bottle home with him so I am calling to get some more bottles for me and also my friends" Helen Schultz, who's son is a Sydney hotel Chef, we now supply the hotel with seasoning.
Tasting Notes: We've bottled the essence of the outback with this delicious and endlessly versatile Bush Tomato & Mountain Pepper Seasoning. Strong earthy, sun-dried tomato, caramel and tamarillo notes of the bush tomato prevail with some bite and complexity from the Mountain Pepper leaf. A little garlic, sea salt and spices and you have a delicious accompanyment with scrambled eggs, red meats, pasta sauces, wedges, popcorn the list is endless. People have travelled over 200km to buy this seasoning from us and people often buy several bottles at a time to ensure they never run out!
Natural & Cultural History: See the detailed pages for Bush Tomato Solanum centrale and Mountain Pepper Tasmannia lanceolata. The Bush Tomato is collected for us by the Alyawarra Aboriginal Tribe who's traditional homeland is in the northern tip of the Simpson Desert in the Northern Territory. We grow some of our own Mountain Pepper at Kurrajong but get most from north west Tasmania where it is a very common forest understorey shrub.

The fruit is allowed to dry on the bush before being picked by local Indigenous people and sent to us at Kurrajong. This picture was taken by Proprietor Lee Etheringtons best mate Peter Christie.
